Damaged & Expired Goods Tracking

Overview

The Damaged Goods module (/pos/damaged) allows inventory managers and warehouse staff to write off unsellable stock due to expiration, breakage, transit damage, or manufacturer defects.

Logging a Write-Off

1. Select Product & Variant:
   • Choose the damaged item from your active catalog.
2. Specify Quantity & Reason:
   • Reasons: Customer Return (Defective), In-Transit Damage, Expired Expiry Date, Display Floor Wear.
3. Automatic Inventory Adjustment:
   • The logged quantity is deducted immediately from sellable inventory stock to prevent overselling on the POS register and online storefront.
4. Financial Impact Recording:
   • The cost value of the damaged goods is recorded in the loss account for accurate profit-and-loss reporting.
