Stock Adjustments & Physical Inventory Counts
Overview
Keep physical warehouse inventory aligned with system records through periodic stock audits, cycle counts, and manual balance rebalances.
1. Physical Stock Count (/products/stock-count)
- Cycle Counts: Perform weekly or monthly counts per category or aisle.
- Barcode Verification: Staff can scan products with handheld scanners to enter counted quantities.
- Discrepancy Highlighting: The system calculates differences (
System QtyvsCounted Qty) and highlights shortages or surplus stock.
2. Stock Adjustments (/products/stock-adjustment)
- When inventory discrepancies occur (e.g. theft, shrinkage, administrative correction), submit a formal adjustment.
- Adjustment Types:
Addition (+): Found stock or received unlogged inventory.Subtraction (-): Shrinkage, internal store use, or unrecorded loss.
- Requires specifying warehouse location and reason note for accounting audit logs.
